The sandwich with würstel and sauerkraut!

Today, around the house there is none and there are no demands for special preparations even for dinner ....
I have been busy preparing a couple of cakes and I do not feel like cooking.

But the sauerkraut season of the Gurbe valley has resumed and just yesterday I got a couple of sausages from the renowned butcher Santis Metzg GmnH from Wimmis.
I already know what I sgranocchierò!

And while I'm preparing everything, I think back to when as a boy, in Milan in Piazza Beccaria, we met friends at the Crota Piemunteisa for their famous frankfurter and sauerkraut sandwiches and draft beer.
We stood there chatting making both the sandwiches and the beers last an infinite time and then, if necessary, we went back to the sandwich counter and then to the beer counter!
There were also other sandwiches and other beverages but the classic was; and it cost too little.

The restaurant also closed to open a few years later in the face: smaller and slightly different.
I went there a few times, going down to Milan.
The atmosphere of the past is now lost; and maybe even those years!

But I can repeat the nostalgia operation:
of baguette-cut boots for good, open frankfurters and mustard coated,

a generous spoonful of sauerkraut and closes the whole.

And immediately I have my tasty snack:
a nice würstel sandwich and sauerkraut, like once!

Invariably accompanied by a nice beer.
