Homemade sweet and sour sauce, oriental cuisine

The sweet and sour sauce

This sauce, great to accompany grilled meats and much more, is a very simple version of the sweet and sour sauce that I generally use to season the chicken (or pork) in sweet and sour sauce, and that can without problems replace enriched with vegetables.

As I propose it is really very simple to execute and I assure you, that, once you put it once on the table, it will always be required.

What more could you ask for in a sauce?

And now, starting as always from the ingredients, let's start cooking!

To begin, dissolve the cornstarch in a small measure with cold water (at the time of use, it will then be re-mixed quickly).

Now in a saucepan, mix vinegar, sugar, tomato paste and all the other ingredients.

Put on the heat and bring to the boil, continuing to stir.

Remove briefly from the heat and add the mixture of water and cornstarch again.

Put back on the heat and, continuing to stir, continue cooking to thicken the cornstarch.
(if the sauce should thicken too much, add a little more water)

The sauce is ready!
Excellent to accompany small pieces of meat or grilled sausages, fried chips and, of course, excellent spring rolls prepared at home, Fried or forno.

Bon appetit!
