The summer kitchen on vacation: it starts!

Summer kitchen on holiday: live pasta!

When I am on vacation I like to go to small restaurants and taverns to try or taste the local specialties; but not only!

If I plan to extend my vacation for more than a few days hit and run, I try to find a studio with integrated kitchen or better yet with a separate kitchenette.
And devote myself to my kitchen!

In the summer then, in the south of Europe, fruits and vegetables abound, all fresh and tasty: do not take advantage of it would really be a crime: tomatoes and zucchini with the flavor of many years ago, peaches that melt in your mouth leaving a trail of sweetness. .. better do not go on telling.

Over the years I have also learned how to organize myself as best I could: if the pot, pans, dishes and pans never fail, I always found major problems with knives.

And so I leave equipped with a small set of sharp knives (one with a smooth blade, the other serrated and then one for tomatoes), a vegetable slicer and grater (also excellent for grating cheese), a small whisk.

The rest, if it is missing, is on the spot.
And so, on the first day, I dedicate it to finding salt, pepper, paper napkins and other small amenities.

Then I get some basil, mint and parsley which I immediately put in plastic bottles cut in half to take root.

And do not throw the top off:
suitably cut, taking the cap, it becomes an excellent close-sealed bags; ideal for fridge and freezer!

I have already talked about my basic stock for sautéed on vacation (here the story)

And also of many other recipes.
In these days I will try to recall as much as possible!

It goes without saying that not always, on vacation, it is possible to find the same ingredients that are found at home:
and I would like to see!

But, with a little 'inventiveness and desire to experiment, you can always recreate in a new guise also a traditional dish ...
